I was in JB the other day, saw fish oil supplements and picked it up. A friend saw it and told me I should be careful when bringing it back into customs.
I guess Singapore customs enforced that to prevent ways to bring in illegal drugs? More insights from those in the know, please!

how much are they?
you may have to pay GST for them..
if you are 18 and above, you have GST relief..
- for less than 24 hours, $50 - for between 24 hours and 48 hours, $150 - for more than 48 hours, $300
which means if you have been away from Singapore for less than 24 hours, and you buy about $200 worth of stuff, you have to pay the GST for $200 - $50 = $150 of the stuff you brought back
which is $150 x 5% = $7.50 to Singapore Customs (which is different from ICA, the fellas checking your car and passport)
if the stuff is considered Health Supplements, and not controlled by HSA, it will be treated as normal things which does not need a permit... if it controlled or listed by HSA, it is best to as HSA about it..

wow i didnt know
Blahhh
I sometimes purchase fish oil, green tea extracts and flaxseed all in capsule forms (good for health!) when I am in JB . I give a rough estimation that the total cost is about 110RM? It's a small amount when converted to sing dollar, so dun think need to declare. That list looks applicable only when I purchase things in bulk...
