Maths tuition...
Works this way:
1. Diagnostic test - the test has a limited time and you will do one that is your level (e.g Sec 2 student will do Sec 2 diagnostic test)
2. Based on the test results, they will plot a graph, which will show how strong your foundations. If your foundation goes all the way back to primary school, you start from a primary school level Maths and move all the way up. If the test shows that you are strong, you might do another diagnostic test of another level say Sec 3.
3. Every level has 200 booklets. 10 worksheets per booklet. 1 worksheet has 2 pages (A and B). In total, you are doing 400 worksheets worth of questions.
4. Once you have finished the 200 booklets, you will go for a level test. If you pass, you move on. If you fail, you re-do or repeat that particular level of worksheet. Depending on your weakness, you repeat a certain set(s) or the whole 200 sets, then go for test again.
5. As you progress, your instructor will chart your progress. If they notice too many mistakes for a particular set, they will repeat you till you understand how to do it. Then you move on.
6. One booklet per day to be done (or lesser, depending on the level. If the level is rather high, say level K, you might do half a booklet instead. Depends on instructor and your own progress)
Don't use this as a comparison to Singapore's education system... you will fall very behind...
