Fixed deposit-linked platinum cards aside, sometimes the holder of the platinum card does not necessarily earn more than $50k in annual income.
Cos... I've seen cases whereby a bank sends its customer an application form (of course attached to a letter inviting him/her to apply) for a platinum card when all that's worthy of the customer is a long-standing corporate relationship with the bank.
No I don't work in a bank heh. Just personal observations.
But then assuming the holder is rich, why won't the holder take a bus? There are a lot of rich people walking on the streets looking like they sell vegetables in the market. Some people are rich, but they don't know how to spend their wealth. -

there is also an interesting clause here:
"EZ-Link shall be entitled to charge a convenience fee of Singapore Twenty-Five cents ($0.25) for each Auto Credit Card Top-Up transaction, which shall be charged to the card account."
basically if every auto top up of $50 (for spending above $600 per month), u get SMRT$0.75. and there is no way of disabling auto top-up.
