gd moveOriginally posted by mochou:if one person keep doing the cough trick to you, then you counter him with faking, just like basketball/soccer, do fake action. Act as if you want to shoot, but last minute pull back, let him cough, then shoot again, see he cough again anot. Fake until he cough his lung out.
i think if u are good, nothing can distract uOriginally posted by forumer84:When u r playing wif ur frens, have they ever purposely cough or make some funny noise juz when u strike the cue ball to distract u so dat u miss the pot?wat is ur reaction towards such action?
my belief is dat they r afraid u might "one cue" and hv no chance to pot.But by doing tis, it shows the lvl of sportingness they hv. Oso spoils the game totally. The worst part is they assume the person whose potting does not noe dat tis 'cheat' tactic can be a distraction. Will u tell them not to cough juz when u r potting? But then, some will juz say the timing is a coincidence, then u cant do much abt it oso. Then when its ur turn to pot again, muz "watch out/careful" of these distractions and u cant focus fully on potting. Those who play billiards noe dat 100% concentration is needed when aiming..noe wat i mean..
Opinions anyone?

seems to me that skeujin is just stating what everyone here is thinkingOriginally posted by forumer84:Obviously, skeujin is guilty of something since he sounds so defensive. No nid come here flame pple juz to increase ur posts.
i play pool/snooker for leisure wif my frens and we do funny things or say things like "miss, miss" or "jia zui". its fine wif me as its all in the name of fun. Also its ok if they make noise throughout the game as everyone will hv become used to it.
i guess the cough/clear throat part occurs only when im playing wif a fren whose more or less my standard(i din say my pool is very gd,hv to clarify this in case some idiot says im boasting my skill) and i can sense dat he does not wan to lose. We r close frens and i don mind losing to him. I treat it as a friendly match but hes the one whose taking it seriously by making these funny noises juz b4 the cue strike the ball to make me miss.i mean, its abt fun and oso fairness too mah.
btw im more of a snooker/no.ball player and its always silence is golden (more so for no.ball cos theres $). No need explain further. Those who play noe wat i mean.
PS:btw skeujin, im not interested in pool outings organized by you.
