Even NTUC also have items on sale outside their shop.Originally posted by hisoka:if they have outside items then they jolly well have to expect pple to take items outside to shop unless they have clear, obvious signs and announcements![]()
abit wrong leh, have you thought about it, the trays with goods were outside. whcih means that as soon as you take up the goods that is outside OG, and hold it in your hands , you are busted...Originally posted by nanren4ever:Oh, you mean you shouldn't pay first for things INSIDE the shop, before proceeding to go OUTSIDE and look for other things, even if it belongs to the same store?
Maybe the guy should have done the above first to avoid misunderstanding. The reason why the security guards didn't listen to his explaination is probably because they have encountered thieves who tried to crawl their way out of the same situation.
But Police not bothering about his explaination too? Makes me wonder.
exactly, but reasoning will tell you that the info given by stiomp author is wrong.Originally posted by hisoka:if they have outside items then they jolly well have to expect pple to take items outside to shop unless they have clear, obvious signs and announcements![]()
what can the other side of the story be?Originally posted by freakass:We only heard one side of the story. Fullstop.
=O orili.Originally posted by davidche:exactly, but reasoning will tell you that the info given by stiomp author is wrong.
Og doesnt put their good outside.
secondly, if above were to be true, that goods wwere being displayed outside, then the people(buyers), approaching the fitting rooms which are inside the store, going in and out of the store would sound the alarm, wouldnt it be VERY noisy??![]()
That is why studying is very very very important.Originally posted by Darkness_hacker99:That stupid OG officer refused to listen the explanation. f**k him la.
From this, I can deduce that the officer is not well educated as any person with higher level education will 100%%%% listen to reasonings.
are you sure they don't put he goods outside?Originally posted by davidche:exactly, but reasoning will tell you that the info given by stiomp author is wrong.

An angry Marcus Tan sent in this email to STOMP:
To All Happy Shoppers :-
Beware of Traps With Outdoor Sales Items OUTSIDE Department Stores egÂ…OG
Shoppers enjoying their year-end shopping should be VERY CAREFUL not
to be trapped!!
My nephew was shopping at OG Albert Court on the 30th Dec 2006. He
picked up a packet of singlets that he wanted.
He proceeded to the outdoor areas, HOLDING THE PACKET OF SINGLET WITH HIS RIGHT HAND EXPOSED, to buy a pillow displayed outside. As he passed out of the store, the Alarm soundedÂ….the guard came and brought him to the office. They refused to listen to any reasoning, Especially the FACT that the packet wasn't hidden in any bags BUT EXPOSED VISIBILY ON HIS RIGHT HAND. . Who would want to display something that they have stolen so visibily????.Â…..IT was a GENUINE MISTAKE!!!! But nobody cared. The police were called in and he was taken away HANDCUFFED IN PUBLIC !!!!
Please advise your Esteemed Readers not to be trapped by this situation.
Marcus Tan
UPDATE:
Mr. Tan tells us that his nephew is a very timid 30-year-old male who is well educated with a stable job.
The nephew was shopping alone around noon on the 30th of December for a pillow for his newly rented room at the area shown below.
Mr. Tan states that OG's security personnel and the police did not take his nephew's explanations into consideration at all.
"The police only trusted the secutry personnel and refused to even hear him out," said the outraged Mr. Tan,"they said that since he has a clean record, he should just admit and pay a fine and move on."
The family has engaged a lawyer to mitigate for him, as he was innocently made to admit in the statement by "screaming officers who threatened him".
"It's a trap!" declares Mr. Tan in his second email to STOMP, "Traps like this exist in almost all the shopping centers all over Singapore."
