Those people have already reached a stage of desperation where there is no turning back. I rather not have them jump off. Leaking brains and the PLOP sound stays in the head forever.
It is good to try and help them to keep them alive by offering alternatives which usually a person in a wrong frame of mind cannot see until someone points it out to them. If they are still determined - they will jump off and there is nothing to be done about it. -

A person takes many many many steps towards suicide. At every single step of the way towards it, people could have stop it, but didn't, wouldn't, couldn't.
It isn't something that is decided overnight.
So when u see someone who is attempting suicide, it many not be the final step towards it. it could still be a cry for help. But by expecting that nobody can do a thing, well, just pushes them forward another step. -
i rem 2 years ago, someone jumping down from the hdb block outside my office. i didnlt see the ger jumping down but i went out to run errands for my boss and happen to see lots of pple and the police had surrounded the whole place. when i walk pass, i saw the body lying on the floor with a white cloth covering over it. the wind was blowing very strong at that time so i can actually the legs clearly. she was wearing shorts at that time.. at the moment, i feel sad for her.. i mean death and life is jus a few seconds away. i wondered what on her mind when she jump down from the flat. before i encountered this thing, i always think of ending my life cos that time i was really in a mess and everything jus go haywiire, my work, realtionship and my finance. but after seeing that ger who committed suicide, i nv tik of dying anymore.. it rreally freaks me out.. the image is still stuck in my mind till now.. i expect this to be appear in the news or newspaper but apparently it did not.. now when i pass by the place, it still give me the chill and seriously, i felt really sorry for the ger.. so now when anyone tik of dying, i will tried my best to help them cos i don wan to see any tragic thing happen again..
