I'm not originally from singapore, my gf (born in singapore) is the same age as me, I was curious how common it is for big age gaps. Where I'm from it'd be labelled kinda disgusting for a 20 yr old guy to be with a girl whos like 14. Seems odd to me but it happens here a lot & how come? So when they grow up wife is young still? lol. Opinions please -

I think it's ok when ppl are older like if its 40 yr old n 30 yr old but it seems crazy to me if the guy is a man n the girls started puberty just lol. Too easy to manipulate KIDS -_- I see it as bad. Is it something guys that cannot get other girls their own age do?

The late princess Diana and Prince Charlie had a HUGE age difference .....
Then if we look at Medieval English history .....alot of girls were married off at 10 or 12 years old . I think Lady Jane Grey was around that age when she got married off. -

Don't tell me you go around asking every single girl her age each time she goes out with an apparently older male companion? Maybe she is out with her father/uncle/elder cousin - just walking around the shopping mall with them? Just because two persons are walking together does not mean that they are going out with each other. You have not listed the behaviours you saw at all to suggest otherwise. You come up with this pompous statement without giving any concrete example . There are laws governing sexual behaviour with minors under the age of consent, for the purpose of establishing statutory rape. That comes with mandatory caning should a man decides to have sex with a minor.
If you think something is wrong or if it looks like paedophilia in action, you can always act on it by reporting it to the appropriate authorities.
Appearances are deceiving. There are girls who look younger than your average caucasian . I look underaged for cigarettes in Australia but hey I am not.
Oh yeah , no offence but there are alot of travellers from the western world going to Thailand for the specific purpose of committing paedophilia - do something constructive and go protest against them . Mind you , everywhere there is always something u see , it just doesn't mean that that behaviour is statistically significant. -

14 is legal but falls under the women's charter. So unless you have her parents permission you still can go to jail.

it will be ok if u r 26 n the gal is 20. or both of u older den dat wif 6 years gap.
but when u r 20 n the gal is 14, meaning u r an adult sianing a gal in secondary, maturity likewise abit weird.

Nah ...threadstarter just gave us a vague statement without a concrete example of how he knew that girl is 14 or so ...He says he see alot in Singapore but seeing is subjective without facts . The girl could be older than she actually looks. He has not given any specific examples - only a generalised one of what he thinks and assumes to be true .
It is just like me saying I read about contraceptive pills given to girls under 10 years old in the United Kingdom plus the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe...and I find that sickening. I don't agree that with that sort of culture. However difference between him and I is that I have actual facts to back me up.
