Just read an articla posted in the Straights Time Forum about this ladykicking up a fuss about property agents who are unprofessional...her reason?They did not want to bring her to view the apartment after they heard that she and her husbands were not going to pay commision because they want to be independant buyers???
What the shit is an insurance agent for???To connect you to the seller lah of course...by bringing you in his car he needs to pay for petrol right?Not to mention he has to part with his time also... -

the couple dun want agents to act on their behalf...so they search the ads and respond to them...
agents for the seller dun want to take the couple's deal because they are not going to pay them.I am not too sure of the rule...I think seller pay a percentage of the sale price(say 2%)...buyer pay a percentage(say 2%)...so if the couple not going to pay...that means the agent can only get 2% out of the deal...instead of 4%...maybe the agents think it's not worth their while or what lor...unfair to the seller because the prospective buyer pool gets reduced..but for the buyer...its either U take it or U dont.
of cos...there is another way out...if seller wants to sell urgent...buyer and seller come to an agreement...seller pays the 4% and complete the sale.
her point of contention is that since the seller's agent is taking that 2% from the seller...they should connect the seller with the buyer and get that 2%...instead of waiting for that 4%. -
but it is supposed to be paid by both sides what...whats so special about that couple that they don't need to pay?

If a person of ministerial level need to be paid handsomely in order to work hard for the country economic progression, I don't see why the buyer is not going to pay for the agent commission. If not happy, don't buy THAT HOUSE!!!!

Norm in the industry is that housing agent gets paid from both buyer and seller mah.
How can she say people is not professional? She is demanding a free service outside the norm.

I agree with the letter writer totally. If she chooses handling the buy-side transaction, she shouldn't have to pay the sell-side agent. And if the buy-side paperwork is so simple that it can be done by a lay person, the agent fee of 2% or $6000 is too high.
The rich elites above who complained the letter writer should come down from their high horses. You should know that a $6000 saving means a lot to people who buy HDB flats. -

If the seller wants to sell in a hurry , they will accept any terms. They are at the loosing end but hey nothing personal , just business. If the seller can afford to wait, the buyer is at the loosing end .
That is how you play the property market . Take it or leave it. I know of some who just force the hands down ....take it or leave it because I can go elsewhere to do this business. Nothing unethical about that especially when a person is forcing overzealous investors who overplayed their hand and need to lose the liability fast.
That's what my relative did to a developer. Told him to either take the money and absorb the taxes in or else off somewhere he goes. -

I helped someone got a tenant. After that she got greedy and backstabbed me. Refused to pay a single cent claiming all sorts of things.
So I figured, If I ever want to do business, it would never be for Singaporeans. They think people's time is free and always want free things and free load on other people. Singaporeans are very buay zi dong.
