got what......not chilled are put in the shopOriginally posted by mamamamama:they charge you for using their fridge to cool your drinks.
same goes for canned drinks ma.
chilled ones are more expensive.
but hor, i've never seen milk which is not chilled.
you buy from where de?
o okay thanksOriginally posted by Darkness_hacker99:Unopen refrigerated milk is better as compare to non-refrigerated. It is because bacteria grows in room temperature in milk because it provided the suitable condition for bacteria cultivation. What the end product is lactic acid with cause the sourness in the milk.
The refrigerated milk is fresh milk and will go off if it's not refrigerated and has to be consumed within certain period. The non-refrigerated one, on the other hand, is usually made of milk solid (= milk powder) and has longer shelf life.Originally posted by ghimpheng:Is The Quality The Same ?
The price of refrigerated Milk is certainly much more expensive that those non-refrigerated
even though both are 1 litre
anyone here know the difference
I think the comparison should be between Pasturized Milk (the ones kept chilled) vs UHT MilkOriginally posted by ghimpheng:Is The Quality The Same ?

lol..UHT milk....ai yah to summarise....juz put ur milk in the fridge la!!! who ask u take out! u want die izitOriginally posted by elindra:I think the comparison should be between Pasturized Milk (the ones kept chilled) vs UHT Milk
UHT (Ultra-High Temperature) Milk is milk that has undergone the UHT process which is partially sterilizing food by heating it for around 1-2 seconds, at a temperature exceeding 135°C. This temperature kills the spores in milk. The high temperature also reduces the processing time, thereby reducing the destruction of nutrients. UHT milk has a typical shelf life of six to nine months, until opened. However, they spoil much more rapidly than pasteurized milk because all the lactobacillus in milk has been killed by the high temperature heat treatment.
Pasturized Milk undergoes the pasturizing process which involves the selective removal of a subset of microbes. Pasturized Milk does not kill the lactobacillus in the milk and it only have a shelf-life of 2 - 3weeks.
Anyway, the price all comes down to the manufacturing process coz if a product shelf-life is shorter, they have to increase the price to cover their losses by dumping the product once it expires.

refrigerated is more ex because you can buy and drink it immediately.
Honestly? If i were to blindfold your eyes and drink from both(chilled form).Originally posted by ghimpheng:
really meh ?
but judging by the post they are saying that the one in fridge is better
You can definitely taste the difference between long life milk and fresh milk after you have fresh milk for a while. Fresh milk tastes much much better. Of course you won't be able to tell the difference if you only use it for making coffee and tea.Originally posted by dragg:i think no diff.
