  This reminded me of my BIL. He and his ex gf were together for 2-3 yrs. Then they planned to get married, booked hotel wedding dinner, took wedding pics [great pics tho!] and planned to the very last detail for the big day. Even bought a nice big diamond ring for her too!
  Less than 3 weeks to the big day, his ex gf called it off! Reason - she is not prepared yet for a married life.
  
  My BIL was left speechless. But he is a real cool guy. I salute him!! After some thought, he agreed to the break. He mentioned that it was better to have happened before the wedding than to end up with a broken marriage and divorce. They both divided the payment for all the initial deposits equally. The diamond ring, he decided to give her as a going away present. I guess the going away present was for the pre-wedding bang session he had with her!!
  
  Now both are happily married to different gal/guy. But I must say, his ex gf is a beau, as compared to his current wife. No comparison, except when comes to eating, this current wife sure can eat non stop!. Wonder where all she store all them food.
