Can anyone tell me how is GAP calculated in poly? Is it the same for all Poly as well?
Thanks!
RP - 50% test, 50% daily work.
Add the grades together divide by the number of modules you took = GPA.
For example, after 16 daily work and 4 tests, you have a B for all 5 modules.
B = 3 points
5 modules = 15 points.
GPA = 15/5 = 3
It's cumulative...
Yeah I know it's some type of average.
But how many points are A, B, B+ and all these?
Lets say I got 5 modules which I got A, A, B, B+, C
So whats my GPA?
Depends on your poly. For my poly, here's how it works.
A = 4
B+ = 3.5
B = 3
.
.
.
so on
So your GPA for this 5 modules is
(4 + 4 + 3 + 3.5 + 2)/5 = 3.3
And say you have more done 4 more modules in the next semester, say 9 with grades like A, B+, B+, B
GPA = (4 + 4 + 3 + 3.5 + 2 + 4 + 3.5 + 3.5 + 3)/9 = 3.89
It's cumulative... (at least for RP)
how many to get into local uni??
Probably 3.5 and above preferably.
NUS is more strict and usually requires you to be 3.8 and above.
NTU is more lenient - around 3.6 and above.
But it depends on course basis and the number of people interested in that course - so GPA can varies.
For the above info it is for lifescience degree.
for SP, is we see the weightage of a module, counted by unit credits
for example there are 6 modules got credit units this
modules credit units
---------------------
XXXXX -2 units
CCCC -4 units
dvsvsd -4 units
sdsdfs -3 units
dfsdfsd -4 units
sdfsdff -2 units
if u get A for XXXXX u get 2 units
if u get B+ for CCCC u get (3.5/4)*4=3.5 units
if u get B for dvsvsd u get (3/4)*4=3 units
if u get C+ for sdsdfs u get (2.5/4)*3= 1.875 units
if u get C for dfsdfsd u get (2/4)*4=2 units
if u get D+ for sdfsdff u get (1.5/4)*2=0.75 units
note: distiction acts like A
so ur Gpa is (3.5+3+1.875+2+0.75)/(2+4+4+3+4+2) * 4
