Drowning in a pond?

Not trying to underestimate what ponds can do to us, but it surprises me. And got one question to ask. How does one gets himself/herself drown in a pond? The structure of the pond? The depth? Or other reasons?
The report, "Worker drowns after cart rolls into golf course pond" (ST; Sep 2, 2006) highlights the danger of falling into a pond. While deep water is normally more risky than shallow water, the Singapore Life Saving Society considers every body or container of water a potential hazard. Drownings have been known to occur in water of as little as five centimetres in depth.
Err... 5cm of water can kill a person?

Babies can even drown in baby sized bathtubs lor. There have been cases people drown from the soup bowl in front of them even lor.

Baby cannot sit by themselves than like dao hu like tt ma, so they will just slip in and cannot come up by themselves.

er, the sea weed pull them downwards? maybe something got entangled in their leg... -

It really depends the depth of the pond.
