"We bought a 101 year old victorian house about 2 years ago and have been painstakingly renovating it. It went through many transformations and finally ended up as a rooming home when we bought it. It had 20 small dorm-style rooms with 20 fridges and 20 sinks. It did not have a kitchen. We converted it back into a house. It took a long time cause we did most of the work ourselves including the plumbing, flooring, and electrical work. We finished most of the major contruction work this summer, but we still have to paint/get furnature. Some of you already knew about the work in progress and were asking how it was going so here's a tour"

If it's a good buy and you have the money to do it up after you buy it - yes. It's a good property investment and probably get a good profit when the person decides to sell it in the future.

Looks very victorian style. Like those horror movies in the states usually use a victorian style house for the backdrop.

i will buy a house that is practical for me-in a sense there's a room for each of my family members.But not to the extent that the house is actually 3 storey high!.I'd rather a house that is 2 storey high.but not too big can already.

Even when buying a house for yourself, look for properties that have potential for renting out part of it.
we spent around 100 000 CAD on reno, i think. but it's only because we did the work ourselves. labour is always going to be 2/3 of your cost. There were a few very expensive rooms. one being the kitchen and the other being my bathroom. but just all the little work like stripping paint and stuff, you save a lot if you just do it yourself.
hmm i don't want to talk money too much. but for what we paid/spent on it, we probably would make 300 000 off it. It's hard to tell right now cause we're not done and it has yet to be evaluated.
actually if u have money its fun to do this kind of business huh...i mean buy those very old, cheap place..renovate it..and sell it for a bomb -
