  While you might all be just joking/kidding over this athlete's name, I do not think you all should make fun of someone's name just because it sounds funny. He is Korean and it so happens that his name in Korean sounds like 'you suck' in English. I think it is very insensitive to make this kind of statement and even smacks of cultural insensitivity, to a certain extent at least.
