is the SAT important?

  is the SAT important... as far as i know some of my friends are studying for it. is the SAT required for entry into a singapore university? or is it used for entry into a foreign uni?

  SAT is for American Unis but I think SMU uses it.

  Currently, only SMU in Singapore needs it, otherwise, it will only be fore American Unis...SMU needs only SAT 1- reasoning test..
  
  I will be starting to study for it soon..Anyone has got any good guide books to recommend?? Or anyone taking prep courses? Found them to be super expensive...
