i'd like to enquire what happens when the contract ends? just continue with it on a non-contractual basis? all the promotions are only applicable for new subscribers, and there seems to be no incentive at all for existing ones.

if you dont make a cancellation they will extend the contract when they send the bill.

After ur contract expires, you have the choice of renewing or carry on their service on a non-contractual basis. you will then be paying based on the plan that you have chosen previously...
Along the way, u see good promo, you can do a re-contract, as they calls it...But this only can be done at Starhub Shops: Plaza Sing, Tampines Mall, OUB centre... -

as i've said, so far the promotions are only applicable to new subscribers. with regards to the suggestion on terminating and resubscribing, it means i'm liable for the installation fees etc once more. and also, for example the current LG portable dvd player, the terms and conditions state that even new subscribers who just terminated earlier are also not eligible.
Terms and Conditions:
Promotion is only applicable to new StarHub CableTV customers with homes that are connected to StarHub's cable network.
Promotion is valid from 13 January till 23 February 2007 or while stocks last.
Promotion is not applicable to customers who terminate their StarHub CableTV service after 12 January 2007. -

yah sometimes they have different promos for existing customers whose contracts have lapsed and some of them can be quite attractive also... they will call u up i guess.... they aim my MaxOnline contract extension for some time liao
as for why new promos are not available to customers who sign terminate contracts recently, it's becos they don't want customers to keep terminating and signing up just to grab the new promos
by the way most promos also waive off installation charge i think... but i'm not very sure cos haven't been looking for some time already
