  Don't stay in a small cramped area for too long..Even at ur office desk, walk around once in awhile - to the toilet, to the pantry, do some blood circulation excercise...
  
  This is preventable....

  I travel frequently to US so used to 20+Hrs stuck in a metal hotdog with wings
  
  Yeah must get up at least 3-5 times in a long haul flight... i usually stand at the back area for like 10 mins...
  
  Anyway abit OT
  
  And for those of you who or will ever travel there... Do NOT eat Mexican Food the day before you fly.... Not that its bad but its so damn spicy (Can fight with local chili)
  
  Imagine running to the loo on the plane every 20 mins for 18hrs... @_@
  
  And each time it feels like you're crapping lava bricks!

  It is called deep vein thrombosis .
  
  What you do to prevent it is to buy circulation stockings (if you have some mobility problem) and/or walk around regularly when your legs feel crampy. Doing leg exercises help.
  
  People can die from it especially the elderly or those who have some mobility problems. I heard one case where a woman was admitted because she sat in her mahjong game too long.
