THIS bus stop is unique. No bus has ever stopped there since it was built.

Why? Because there is a railing which is built right in front of it.
Instead, passengers have to walk about 10m away from it to board the bus.
The bus stop is located along Bukit Timah Road, some distance from the Newton Food Centre.
According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA), this particular bus stop 'suffers from space constraints'.
Not surprising that commuters are peeved at having to walk to board the bus.
Student Muslim Bin Amad, 16, has been taking buses from this bus stop for the past five years.
He said: 'I have always thought that it is really strange for the railing to be here because no bus can stop here.'
Ms Koh Siew Tiang, 51, a housewife, agreed.
She said that she 'cannot understand why' the bus bay and the shelter cannot be located together.
Andre, 16, a student, said: 'This is quite troublesome as you still have to walk some distance away to board the bus. What if I miss it?'
Housewife Liza Hassam, 53, said it can be troublesome when it rains.
She said: 'Even if the shelter is there, I will be in the rain when I walk out to the bus and this is quite inconvenient especially for the elderly.'
LTA spokesman Naleeza Ebrahim said: 'Unlike other bus stops which allow for a shelter and a bus bay parallel to them, this bus stop has limited space within the road sidetable.'
She added: 'Without this arrangement

actually, it's good of LTA to erect a shelter there... by right, a pole will suffice.
