ITE entry into Poly

I'm asking on behalf of my bf cos I know nuts about engineering courses in poly. My major is in IT during my poly days.
He studied in balestier ite and graduated from the course manufacturing engineering. >> afterwards went through 2 years of ns (in SCDF) due to the reason that theres no more vacancy for him in nyp ... it was kind of a last min thing when he registered for the poly enrolment
i heard balestier ite is a nitec institution which brings me to the question of the difference between higher nitec, nitec and itc ?
his gpa is around 2.3-2.4 and now that his ord date is another 2 months away. will the chances for him be high or low if he intends to get into an engineering course in either nyp or tp ? -

uhm all i know is tat to enter nyp is pretty easy..
not so sure abt ite student to nyp..

from what i heard in tp,the gpa has to be like 3 or something to enter.that's what my ite friend told me when he entered

poly only accept higher nitec -
yo.. nah not true.. nitec can go poly liao.. gpa need to be 3.5 and above to get into poly..

Higher NITEC students need a GPA of 3 and above to get in. If you didn't do well for NITEC, the next possible route is Higher Nitec if I'm not wrong (assuming that you are not going to private institutions). -
engineering courses used to be a "human dumping ground" during my batch thus people who scored a GPA of 2.smth can still come actually but i ain't quite sure about now. i heard that they decreased the cut-off points for engineering courses this time.

Since ur brother score 2.2-2.4 gpa in his nitec , i sorry to say that he has to go higher nitec 1st !

...Dunno the chance la...But no harm in trying to apply for a spot in poly ba...

u need at least 3+ 3.5 n above
lower if ur a hight nitec student..
itc i dontknow..but higher nitec is a higher lvl of nitec ..like the name itself explains. -

apply poly - gpa 3.7 and above
apply higher ite - gpa 2.5 and above

apply poly - 3.5 or above.. lower than that but got 3..u can try appeal..any lower than 3..forget it..
apply higher ite- 2.3 for most school cut off point.. n above.. any lower...u can try appeal..
if ur gpa 3.5 u can go direct higher ite 2nd year...anylower... u have to start 1st year

hmmm 2 years back its like GPA 2.8 for nitec students to get into the engineering courses in NYP.
