Don't get it. I'm currently using one. If you really like the design, go for Atom Exec... but please, not atom.
I 1st got my ATOM it during the Starhub promotion.. within 1 day of purchasing it, the phone hung during charging and could not be hard or soft rebooted. Brought back for 1-to-1 exchange.. The Starhub guy opened a new box for me, same model. Tested it on several SIM cards, turns out the antenna was faulty. So the poor fella ran back to fetch a new set, which tested ok at first.
I'm using that set now.. the phone was almost unusable before I installed a patch from O2. After the patch, it still has these problems :
- hangs frequently
- self-reboots 1~2 times a day
- lags badly .. the sms software is slow too
- sometimes a call comes in and you can't pick it up because of the lag
- 2mpx camera is VERY slow and takes poor quality pictures/awful colour
- sometimes the antenna will malfunction and you can't call/sms till you do a soft reboot.. needless to say, it's disastrous if u're expecting important calls.
- speakers are good quality but VERY soft. You cannot hear it in a room that is slightly noisy, even if you are holding the phone in your hand.
When I told a friend working at Starhub, he revealed that almost all the ATOM sets sold had been brought back by customers for replacement.
I'm getting a new phone asap.
