Singaporeans can be rude but compared to the rest of the world, we're quite polite
For example some of our Asian counterparts...
[b]Shanghai: I've seen people spit (both men and women) on a frequent basis
I've even seen public urination (Yes even a woman)
The people there act like they can do ANYTHING and will question WHY if they can't. Plus i notice very snobbish.
Most irritating thing is they NEVER line up. If you think the average Singaporean is kiasu. Shanghai ppl is Ultra-Kiasu.
Hong Kong: Go into shop for window shopping also the staff will give you the evil eye.
If you dunno Cantonese and try to ask for directions, they won't even bother to help.
Korea
The women are polite but the men are damn guai lan
If they bump into you, they won't say sorry and they'll stare at you and expect you to say sorry to them.
They are often seen spitting and even urinating in public
Korean women on the other hand are so much more polite. If I bump into one they'll bow their heads to say sorry even though its my fault.
If you noticed... these cities i've mentioned are supposed to be "upper class"

I'm always amazed by how Singaporeans look down on the manners of mainland Chinese, while ignoring the fact that Singaporeans, having been brought up from the same peasant stock as most Mainlanders back about 50 to 100 years ago, exhibit pretty much the same behaviour.
1. I see Singaporeans spit, pick their nose and pick their feet in Kopitiums, MRT trains and public in general every day.
2. Singaporeans give you the evil eye at shops too. Not just that. Ever been to the camera shop and either been overcrowded by staff, or totally ignored and stared at?
3. I usually see a parent let their kiddies urinate into drains at HDB's at least once a month. Ok, it's better than adults doing it , but SG ppl are still publicly pissing.
4. No need to remind anyone about getting on trains and buses without letting anyone off. I think it's an art form in SG. Be proud.
5. Singaporeans squat on footpaths spreading their legs just as much as China people do. Remember the bruhaha when a HK mag showed Zhang Ziyi squating outside a shop window? Yep, you do it too.
China is still mostly uneducated. People expect they are going to be thick, inflexible and uncultured.
Even if SG ppl behave slightly better than China ppl, Singapore has had almost 30 years of continuous educated prosperity. SG is supposed to be First World.
Being better than China is like the US saying it has a stronger military than the Vatican.
What's your excuse?
