Information Technology or Multimedia Design?

I wanna learn how to make websites and do designs of images..
Which course is better? Multimedia design from NYP or any IT from poly?
And BTW, Which photoshop and website template designer should I buy? -
1. multimedia design. its quite well rounded course.
2. buy macromedia studio 8 and adobe creative suite 2. they are under same company so are quite compatible with each other, learning curve is also easier now. don't buy original if u're a student. -
Making of websites and designing, go for Multimedia...
Photoshop CS2 and Macromedia Studio 8 are currently the popular ones... but they cost a lot...
Free alternatives are Gimp or Paint.Net and Nvu or First Page -

Read up the polytechnics' websites about the courses offered. I know some of them don't even know what their course is about.
