useless and waste time oni -
the layout is pleasant enough but the content is lacking.
And its abit weird how the posts subject vary from super serious things to mundane things. You need to find your own style of writing and stick to it. At the moment you're kinda drifting.
And maybe abit more graphics or photos and maybe even a poll or somthing interactive would creat more interest in the site.
Its quite ok though

OK. For those who don't get it yet: I did not write any of those entries. Those entries are written by various Singapore bloggers from all over the blogosphere. sgblogs is just a site that collates and keeps track of them.
Now that we have got that over with...
Made some slight changes to the logo and layout.
Shoot me with your comments and harsh criticism

After changing, the layout went haywire with Firefox or is it done on purpose?
The search box totally destroyed the whole site.
The alternate colours used are too light when used to differentiate the different blogs.
Also, the left most and right most columns aren't standardized. Left is narrower, while the right is wider. A standard width would be better. -

That's why it destroyed the site. Otherwise it would be OK.
If the search box borders are to blend in with the grey border at the top (just like how the buildings at the top left blend in), I think it would be near perfect.

The layout is very messy. should keep all the entries one side and the advertisment one side.
keep the search box small and put it somewhere like under the logo.
the logo need works
lower the msg in the middle abit more to near the grey line
Did you adjust anything? the main entries layout got pushed to the bottom.

color wise like many already have said.
too plain. too dull
when it comes to blogs..
the audience..those who reads blogs, should be able to identify both the Context and the Content immediately.
which the color of the site didn't manage to bring that out.
the advertisment wise -should be placed on right side and with lesser margin/frame.
studies and research from the media in the passed states that top part of the site is where the very first impression of the web site is created, many users tend to prefer the top bar for easier navigation
side bar - left side (since everyone are writing from Left To Right), should be placed with the popular blog entries and some of the blogs of the day - for different categories of blogs
maybe in the form of segmentation.
males,females, babies, teenagers, young adults, adults and lastly old folks.
since there's a different market of audience and bloggers on the net.
what needs to be done is to attract the people (even from overseas) to come to that site [since you name it as SgBlogs] so that many will think this blog as a one stop for all site regarding the good blogs and others.
if you want more ideas, maybe i can help you give some more better ideas, but of course it comes with a commission charge - lol -

i find the colours too pastel.
pastel yellow and then pastel blue. need some contrast there.
