How come some parents teach kids some words such as:
Indian call as abu neh neh (no offence, just asking)
When la shi tt time, they will make some kind of eeemmmmmm noise...
and some others. cant think of any right now.
Where did the older generation derive these words from? -

well, the "gai gai" part is derived from "going out to walk around.. along the streets" or in cantonese "hang gai"
so got mashed into babytalk "gai gai"

My hubby says pom pom comes from the sound of beating the bath water in the tub, just to tell the baby or toddler not to be afraid of the water. Cute hor?
