How to build a car!!

Actually, this is requesting for help on project.
Required to design a car which can move through a distance of about 6 metres.
No batteries, only mechanical power allowed, ie. clockworks allowed.
But I have no idea on how clockworks work.
Some people proposed using balloons [probably if I build the prototype it could work], but I wonder if it's feasible.
Any ideas of building fast-moving, light, nice cars? -
tie modified coke bottles horizontally to a toy car then drop a few mentoes in and viola! you have a rocket powered car!

clockwork (springs) ensures all the energy goes into the wheels which will make the car move.. the only energy lost is due to friction and is negligible
balloons, you will lose a lot of energy stored and the energy is lost almost immediately -

u know those old clocks, powered by mechanical spring... where u have to turn the spring to have it moving.... yah lah. just find a bigger one

Spin something, and it releases energy slowly.
Googled for many times but found nothing. -
u could buy some of those kinder surprise toys to 'investigate' they are really good
I remember one which uses a rubber band and 'winding' so the winding turns the rubber band which turns the wheels to propel the car -

using explosives would prob get your car moving the required 6 metres abeilt abit uncontrollably and one off.
but then you could always say all it needs is refeuling -
Use a fire extinguisher, throttle control will be linked to how much you push the lever.
