Would you still be alive if its not for modern medicine?

  When I was 8 years old, I got a really bad case of the asthma attack. Got to fight just to breath normally liao, walk abit breathless and was placed under emergency care. Was warded in hospital for about 4-5 days. I dun think traditional medicine would be able to cure dat kind of asthma attack liao.
  
  If its not for modern medicine, I guess I'd had been gone a looooong time ago.

  yah.. but then we cannot rely too much on modern medicine as well. But isn't it a wonder that thousands of years back, without modern medicine, there are ppl who survive it all (aka our ancestors).

  and many more died. we ought to be thankful for all these years of medical development. long time ago, if you had a brood of children, half of em, are going to die before they reach 18.
  
  bt u're right. we can't rely on it for everything. our body's natural immune system is the best, and we should take care of it.

  TCM focus on general wellness of the whole body
  like regulating qi and blood
  building strong immunity system so u wun fall sick easily
  
  english medicine is oni for temp relief and external recovery....
  
  best to know how to use both effectively
  most ppl go for english medicine to cure
  then use TCM for maintenance and everyday health
  
  but rber to check if there are any conflicts......

  Maybe no. Relied a lot on western treatment and eventually a surgery to solve a internal bleeding issue recently.
