What makes a Finexis advisory representative stands out and differentiates from the rest FA is that the company emphasises on Character-building and how they collaborate with partners and clients. Each Fin-exis advisor undergoes 180 hrs of training per year. This extra mile and effort is initiated by the company and is more than the stipulated 30hrs of training by MAS rule.
I have only managed to chance upon your entry after so many months. Wonder whether you have approached your finanical advisory represenative in fin-exis yet? What does their Financial Adviser Rep job scope like? Office type or sell insurance type?

Was at that company during my campus attachment...its located in a very nice building by the name of Parkview Square

They just sell insurance from Manulife, AXA, Asialife, HSBC and some lesser known companies.
They always say because they are IFAs, (Independent Financial Advisors), they can recommend a plan that best suit your requirement. This is not true. They sell based on which policy gives them a higher com.
Go at your own risk. Just because they are not the normal AIA, prudential, ntuc, common insurance companies doesn't mean they are any better. In fact, I'll pick AIA/prudential/ntuc/great eastern any day.
Examples of other IFAs are IPP Capital, First Principle, etc.
There is this term "Vesting" that applies to their companies. Meaning they will still receive commission from their insurance sales even after they had left the company. (AIA/ntuc/GE/prud/ they do not get anything if they leave.) So if I'm with this IFA today, I sell you based on the plan that gives me the highest com. 2-3 years later, I may jump to another IFA or quit this line altogether and work some other job, and I'll still continue to get the com from the premiums you are paying. Good right?
And, if you need help/clarification/claims on the policies you had bought, I'll ask you to call the company directly. It's hands off for me.
And I'll bet you the person who took over your policies from me won't good a good job for you. He's getting nothing servicing you.

there was this girl who called me on my hp, so my fren gave her my contacts, so i get an opportunity to let her do a financial analysis for me.. ask me bring my cpf statement etc etc..
i told her im not interested.. she asked me why. Then she said she would call again since I was busy.
Few days later she called again. I was blardy feeling hot that day.. then i told her im not going. She asked me 'why?' I said I'm not interested. Then she asked again.. "Why are you not interested?" Machiam I owe her an answer like that! I shouted at her "I SAID IM NOT INTERESTED!" She said, 'oh.. ok.."

i remembered dec or jan got one lady kana tumor. She claimed from her Prudential, NTUC and GE policies, but not her aviva or asialife policy. The T and C are very restrictive and against her... Came out in the papers... poor lady...
