Advise for Perth Trip

Hi ppl,
I intend to go to Perth for a family holiday (4 adults+2 little children below 4) during 1st week of April. I got a few qns
1) What would be good places to visit and things to do it for my family?
2) Easter holiday (Fri, Sat, Sun Mon) falls on that week! Will shops and eateries be open? All tourists locations still open?
3) It'll be a free and easy trip. Should I get the tickets from tour agency or book my own eTickets? An estimate to the any price saving would be great!

Go to the revolving restraunt at one of the zoos... went there when i was a kid!

Get your own tickets, but you better hurry! It's a holiday weekend after all.
Expect long drives to get to meaningful places, but the zoo and Freemantle will keep your kids occupied. And stop by Cicerello's for fish n' chips (though I know of better ones around).
I'm not sure how many of them will be open for that period though. -

Caesar's @ Fremantle has great pasta but ask the boss about steak and the chips, he might just start talking about the American sailors.
I'd recommend the Penne Carbonara and the Caesar Salad, as the chicken slices are roasted before it's put into the salad.
Westfield Galleria and Carousel near Vic Park are a few of the suburban malls with late night shopping. They vary from Thurs or Fri, and shops will usually stay open till 9.
If you visit Booragoon, there is a fairly nice fish bee hoon diner.
Visit Scarborough Beach for the view and seafood, while make sure that you drive up north to the Pinnacles and explore limestone formations. Dandaragnan Bay is a rustic lil town near the Pinnacles if you just want a quick rest stop with a nice area to park and have a picnic beside the beach. Mind you, it's just another estate though there's a war memorial at the beach.
Kings Park is a must-go place too. There is a skywalk where you can walk at the treetop level etc.. -

(2) Like fymk said, it might be tricky during the Easter long weekends... can you come the week before or after Easter? Also, the school holiday starts from April 5th so it'll be peak season when you're here and it can be busy and accommodation/certain activities can be more expensive.
(3) Sometimes you might get a good deal by booking your tours when you arrive at the destinations but there's a risk that the tour might get booked out. I think it's best to look at the website above to decide what you want to do first.
If you are planning to hire a car to drive, just be very careful on the road.

I am pretty worried that the Fremantle Markets are not open on that week Friday to Sun which coincidentally is the Easter Holidays!
Even if it's open, would the atmosphere be the same? Don't want to visit a quiet market with just a few shops open

You can also take a drive to Serpentine, approx 60 km South of Perth (about one hour drive). There is a dam and a Buddhist forest monastery there. Good place to go even if you are not a Buddhist... scenic & picnic spots aplenty there.

Yeah, if you can, go to Albany. Can go whale-watching, but have to confirm if it's the season for whale-watching. You might get to have wild dolphins swimming next to your boat.

Do be extra careful if you choose to drive out of perth during the easter break. Everybody goes away on road trips then. And accidents (as well as fatalities) are a peak during this time. Beware of speedtraps, the men-in-blue (...brown, if you are in the countryside) aren't always on the ground.

By all means get a service apartment.
Perth is relatively small. And bring back the Apple Studels.
The shopping malls & shops close by 5pm usually, so you might be better off spending less cash at the same time.
BTW, children, rent car, means car seats. Are you sure you can lug that amount with you while your hands are full with 2 kids below 4 years old?
Is there any other adults you are visiting in Perth? If yes, then housing & transport is covered. As well as a tourguide & hopefully nanny for the kids.
If not........
Go for a cruise to and fro Freementle, that should keep your kids confined to a certain space & allows you to see some interesting sand bar features.
