Istana house open 20 feb 2007...Will you go?

The Istana grounds are open to the public annually in celebration of the following occasions:
Chinese New Year
Deepavali
Hari Raya Puasa
Labour Day
National Day
The next Istana Open Houses have been scheduled for:
Tuesday, 20 February 2007 (to celebrate Chinese New Year)
Tuesday, 1 May 2007 (to celebrate Labour Day)
Sunday, 5 August 2007 (to celebrate National Day)
Saturday, 13 October 2007 (to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa)
Thursday, 8 November 2007 (to celebrate Deepavali)
Admission to the Istana grounds is free for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents. Others, including foreign visitors, are required to pay an entrance fee of $1 per person. Entrance to the grounds is via the main gate at Orchard Road. Opening hours are usually from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm.

$2,507,200 --- President's salary [approx $200,000 per month]
$2,733,200 --- Salaries of Personal Staff
$1,108,500 --- Expenses of Household
$ 92,800 --- Special Services
$6,562,300 --- Total Expenses[ $547,000 per month ( almost one peanut! )]

however dun even litter or spit on the ground
