I personally have picked some skills from being massage from the experts in WanYang. While you are being massage, take note of how they do it and you will learn some from there too. I personally like Chinese massage technique the best and this is where I can tell you sth I know.
To be really good, I believe you need to put effort in these areas
1) Massaging techniques. You can use different parts of your body to massage. Your palm, fingers, elbow seems to your tool. When and what part to use can yield can different results.
E.g. Using the elbow on the back muscle is quite a good approach. As the elbow is stronger and you can use your weight to add pressure as and when needed. How much pressure to apply is also very important and you must feel and apply the pressure accordingly. Pressing too deep into the muscle will hurt the person and pressing too soft is not massaging the person.
2) Massaging location This I think needs a lot of studying and is probably even more difficult to master than the massaging technique. Knowledge in this area helps you to do localized massaging. Thus you can provide much better service to customer than the usual massage the whole body which is often what most customers are not looking for.
3) Massaging sequence The sequence I guess is also impt. But I know nothing about this.
4) Massaging essentials This is probably easiest to learn where u know what bed, oilment, powder, massaging tools like comb, chopsticks, etc would enhance the massaging effects.

The only thing I heard off (A colleague took up), is that it is an expensive course, and that its not practical as a means of living. Need a lot to time and energy to massage people ah.
