NUS medical schl come out can be wad?? can be doctor liao or still need bachelor then can be doctor?? poly biomed students got good chance enter or most of the vacancy is for JC students??

my cousin come out from NUS after 5 or 6 years of study can go to hospital to work already
I just read that our best ppl go to UNSW to study medical..

If you have scholarship to go study medicine, then go UNSW ba.
If not, just enter NUS. -
UNSW is one of the best or probably THE best university in the southeast asia region. I am very sure that having an education there would give you an edge over the local doctors who studied in NUS(my opinion). Not only would the education standard be high, you would also greatly benefit from having an overseas education (i.e More open-minded,socially apt etc). Firstly you have to make sure that you do have an interest in medicine and not just wanting to do it for the monetary benefits. If you are being self-sponsered be ready to have at least 2k a month for basic needs such as accomodation,food etc. Cost wise it would be cheaper to study in NUS.

Poly Biomed is also very good but not as good as A' Level Biology.
But both chances is the same de lah. Must get damn good great then got chance. THe only advantage is poly student no need interview but JC student need.
For Uni admin using Poly result is:
80% poly result
20% O level result. -

NUS medicine only requires Chemistry at A Levels, but not doing Biology will put you at a great disadvantage.
I can't believe how much people seem to be putting down NUS Med here. NUS Med is hands down, without a doubt, better than UNSW Med, if we are talking about average student quality. You don't seem to be aware how hard it is to get into NUS Med.
The point about an overseas education is still valid though, but NUS Med is amazing. It is heads and shoulders above other faculties in NUS - law included.
I'm not sure if poly students can get into NUS Med, but it appears that they only accept A Level students at current. Put it this way, the chance of getting into NUS Law is maybe 20%, and they take only 1 or 2 students from poly a year. The chance of getting into NUS Med is 10% - and bear in mind it is very self-selective; if you don't have at least 3As there really is no point even applying.
