Over 10,000 Girl Guides, Brownies celebrate 90th Year of Gir

Over 10,000 Girl Guides and Brownies celebrated the 90th year of Girl Guiding in Singapore.
The uniformed girls packed the Singapore Indoor Stadium to commemorate "World Thinking Day" as well.
"World Thinking Day" is where the guiding community remembers each other and appreciate the friendships shared.
Joining them were Patron of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, Mrs S R Nathan, and the Association President Mrs Teo Chee Hean.
The Girl Guides entertained with performances and songs throughout the 4-hour long event.
Some also received awards from Mrs Nathan.
The event ended with the blowing out of candles for the 90-year-old movement here. - CNA /ls -

in 1996... even $1 was the world to me... A Mars bar bought from the mama-shop with my savings of $1 was so precious, I had to hide it under my pillow, away from the eyes of my disapproving parents...

Hey, but I really like those Girl Guide cookies. I only see the mint ones in the market nowadays. I remember when I bought the digestive chocolate ones, cos I didn't know where else to buy, so I could only bear to eat one at a time.
