Disturbing Kids Programme on Ch8

Now Ch8 on Sunday morning, there is kids programme with a plot that revolves around a small girl whose parents were rendered missing by a "fairy" (sounds more like a demon to me) as a punishment for her free-spending ways. In order to get her parents back, she has to turn the $500 that the "fairy" gave her into "$5,000".
I wonder which sicko thought up of this plot that involves parental abduction and neglect, child labour, trickery, blackmailing and extortion.
Are we going too far by trying to turn kids into money-craving freaks? -

it's about spending ur $ wisely, but i think those script writers are over imaginative le, what kidnap ect, very bad for young kids minds.
