Hi there. I would like to know what you think about
How the lecturers and lessons and environment? How do you find the whole experience there ?
.
Firstly i am from SIM UOL,hence i can comment only on my Uni,UOL,you are taking a dilp,i don't know whether the information below is useful or not.
The lecturers are quite ok,some of them also teach in NUS , NTU ,ACCA,RMIT,etc and they teach according to the guide from UK.However i do notice that sometimes the topics that they cover might not be similar to the exams.UOL examiners love to surprised candidates it really required alot of understanding to score and you have to read alot from the recommended texts by lecturers, for some modules like audit which i am taking now,it may be good if you have some working experience.
As for lessons,i find the lessons to be too little ,about 5 to 6 months only. it kinda hard to cope, the modules are very very tough.Exams are even tougher as it was set by the examiners from UK,hence our local lecturers have no ideas on what will be coming out for the exams at all.i already have a major surprise last exams.Don't be surprise that the passing marks are only
34/100,but the examiner are real strict,it tough to score,i have friends who only get a single digit from last year paper.
The place are not bad lah,at least i can still find a places to self-study ,canteen food very cheap, there even snacks and drinks durning lecture breaks.
As for school fees, alot of people think that studying in SIM is expensive but from the amount of school fees i pay so far.it is cheaper compare to local Uni as i managed to get an exemption of one year.
