  I have noticed a number of threads related to cheating people of their money.
  What, in your opinion, is the root cause of such callous, unethical thoughts?
  Could it be the gradual disintegration of societal values as a whole or something more personal?
  
  What are your views?

  IMHO, I think it's the increase of GST to 7% which drive people to such extend.
