Battries, whats the difference?

  What is the difference between the different batteries offered by Energizer?
  
  They offer alkaline, lithium and 'advanced' batteries, and the prices also varies respectively.
  
  But is the strength of the batteries really different? 'advanced' and lithium with the most power while the normal alkalines are the lousy ones?
  
  Or are we getting connned?
