Import PS3 Vs Local PS3?

  I heard SONY will not do the warranty of imported set...... My friend brought his imported PSP to SONY for servicing...... SONY say since the set is imported, they will charge full price for any service. Maybe imported PS3 also the same

  hiaz i would rather wait for a while den get the modded set sick and tired of regional locks can't they do away with it??

  i knoe for the imported PSP no warranty coz mine is imported set. Warranty only apply to the shop u bought it from. Anyway too expensive to buy at this moment, $779 for local PS3 set.
  
  read from papers that the difference is that there is no region codes and games can be played for both import and local sets.
