query regarding gce o level private candidate

hey, im not a student and im currently serving my national service but im interested in applying for three o level subject examination for this year (2007). where can i do that? i mean do i go to a private school? or ministry of education?
is it possible for me to only apply for the examination itself and do the studying by myself? im not very sure of these things can somebody kindly explain more to me please. Thanks

can. u can apply online and pay using singapore post.
but pls take note of the closing date. dun be late! or u have to wait one whole year. -

No, you dun need to go to a private school, can do the stodying by yourself. I would advise you to go to a private school, though.
My friend also tried to study by himself in NS, but he just don't have the time. Then lan lan, must disrupt. I also tried to study on my own for A, it is a subject I'm very confident about, but I only manage to secure a B3. So what's your take? -

sorry just to hijack this thread a little, can i ask if it's possible to take up part-time degree courses or diplomas like soon after bmt during NS? like those business/finance courses offered by SIM UOL. really need advice on whether such part-time learning is worth teh time and $$$. many thanks!

i talked to my pc about this before and he said yes it is possible to disrupt your ns after bmt to pursue further studies. but you have to inform your unit beforehand and even more importantly you have to secure a placing in that institution before you can be considered for disruption. its a lot of paperwork this and that so its best you inform your unit first coz its gonna take an uncertain number of weeks before you can get a black and white approval.
and regarding the private candidate for gce o levels exams application (not private school), where can i go to do so? is it MOE? can someone confirm with me thanks. coz i think i wanna do so asap before i book in camp tomorrow. -

Is it really very hard to take exams as private candidates while serving NS concurrently?

im serving my NS also, now 17 nia. Im doing a 8.30-6pm duty everyday. So have time for my night studies. wads ur O lvl grades? If possible, dun retake Os lorz, during ur NS go take a private part time diploma, which is wad im intending 2 do. Bdw u in army?

Make sure you understand this leh..
Requirement for science subject for O and A is:
either take before the same paper..
or
got private school practical lesson. -
I think after the vocation training liao then consider. Again, must tell unit and get the unit's CSM's approval. If he see you buay song, you will have a tough life one.
