  i think it has something to do with the culture and ego...
  when pp thinks man are egoist, but they do not mind "buying" a bride, regardless of what their friends or relatives will gossip
  
  if there is a groom agency, how many gals actually dare to go enquiry and "buy" a groom for themselves?
