If i want to pursue a journalistic career in Singapore...

How should I go about achieving this? What are the courses that I would need to attend?
Currently taking my final sem in my IT diploma course and I feel its not right for me.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hmm... NTU offers a degree in mass communications.
I was thinking of going for it until I decided to pursue my childhood dreams of becoming an engineer instead.

i would suggest you do a foreign degree, and not necessarily in journalism. A general degree would do, and major in something you want to cover as a journalist (like politics, or economics, or sports). I suggest you go out of S'pore to do this degree so that you can get a 'foreign' perspective that would help make a journalist more open minded. And while you are there, make sure you join the university's newspaper team, so that you resume looks good when you return.

You may wanna think about coming to MDIS to study Degree in Mass Comms.
I know I had been a fervent anti-MDIS disgruntled student, and this may sound hypocriticial, but besides NTU, this is one of the other few options available. U can study things related to journalism, PR, advertising. We even go to the Oklahoma City University Campus towards the end of our degree program for 3 weeks 2 study modules like television production.
From Diploma to Degree 3 years, but since u already a Diploma student, u fast-tracked to the advanced dip program, so 2 1/2 yrs 2 complete the course. Don't worry about not being able 2 catch up, because the diploma programs is more of a bridging program for those who came straight in after their O-level or equivalent in their own countries.
