What is the purpose of portfolio? What is it used for?

  erm, is port folio used for jc or poly application?
  
  Cos i dont get very good grades for homework and i often never hand up. But study in major exams. Get good grades and is aiming for JC
  
  I hope this port folio thingy wont affect my way of life.

  Portfolio is only used for poly design schools application I think.
