Starhub internet service laggy?

Is Starhub internet cable service getting more and more laggy or is it just me? I live in sengkang, does the area affect the speed?
Recently, around a few weeks ago,i start experiencing lower than before internet connection speeds.
The page keep saying that the website can't be found and i have to keep refreshing the page. Anyone know whats wrong? Many Thanks

of course area will affect you lah
it is not shared connection for nothing,the more people in your area sign up for starhub,the more people share that particular area's "fat green pipe" -

"fat green pipe" sounds nice.
maybe in ur area, more people think dat dey own the "fat green pipe" themselves, so dey sign up, thinking dat it is faster den individual dedicated lines, which are slower in terms of speed.....
....so when everybody thinks like dat, "fat green pipe" sure jam one wad... -
I think i my be switching to Singnet MIO package soon. Singnet connection is not shared right?
Anyone here have the same intention or have already done so? Pls share the experience.

seems like most pages got cant get in and must refresh and all. And the my DL/UP speed is dam slowwww!

but singnet do has its share of problems too. if u sway sway telephone line's wiring nt gd den u also will kena slow connection. but it can be solved by calling singnet hotline. dey will look at it for u =)
starhub argues dat dedicated access is useless when everybody is going thru the same internet gateway. but i beg to differ, because if you hav dedicated access, u will get to the gateway first. in some sense, starhub's argument is relatively weak as compared to singnet's dedicated access.
i am not completely critical of starhub, because i find dat starhub has its own advantages too. firstly, if u live in an area where dey arent many starhub users or when it is "off peak", it gives u a lot of advantages in terms of speed. because of technology restriction, max cable speed is still faster den max speed of ADSL phone lines. (of course depending on which plan u subscribe

starhub will constantly upgrade its facilities if dere are many users in the area. BUT, juz like the custom checkpoint at woodlands and tuas, during peak period, no matter how many checkpoint dey set up, it can nvr satisfy the demand. it is the same for cable. during the most "peak period", internet connection will still be slow no matter how well or how many cables dey hav laid in ur area.
for the above paragraph, it sounds a bit bias, but if dere are so many internet users surfing net at the same time, dun u think the internet would be jammed and users of singnet plus starhub will hav problem surfing the net at the same time????

I have used starhub maxonline for 5-6 years now. Its has always been good 99% of the time, save for the recent taiwan quake which disrupt cable services.
However, i am getting very slow download these days. My cable modem is encrypted with password and i also change the url password + modem password and i am still getting slow download during peak hours...good game.
Last time i download 200kb+ for naruto at nonpeak hours. And 150kb++ at peak hours. (8pm-11pm)
But now i download naruto at 30kb+ at peak hour. Sometimes it goes to 10kb+ if i surf the net. Mutters.
In fact, last week or so, i am still downloading naruto at 150kb+ at peak hour but now.... -

Starhub is great in areas where not many people use. My cousin in Yishun has great speeds for Starhub. For my area, the speed is as good as dial-up.
Singnet is great in my area, but sucks in Yishun.
It just depends on where you live.
