Are our scholars born leaders????

scholars are academic smart.... but can they shoulder the heavy responsibilies of bringing our country, our economy, our society to a even higher level????
Leaders are definitely academically smart.... but smart people may not be good leaders...... I think we need good leaders who are able to think intelligently...and at the same time emotionally....
We have been giving out scholarships every year to groom these 'scholars'... but are we grooming the right person??? -

they must understand, scholars and leaders are 2 different things. they are never equal to each other.

so not all those that did not do well at 'O' levels are not intelligent... you have to evaluate that the person for what he is now and not what he is at age 16

smart people can also find smart ways of taking away the people's money and fool them into thinking it is for their own good. The best conmen con you of your money and you feel good about it.
Good people don't go around and con people knowing that they can get away with it.
Best people do things for the people without the people even knowing it...
Like cancer prevention... those working to help people prevent cancer.. you think people will come up to them and thank them because they are not suffering from cancer? Will you seek out the person who is helping people prevent cancer and thank him? Unlikely. -

However, I disagreed with the current military system that are more welcoming in promoting the scholars/studies-smarties. -

well... i m jus wondering... are we spending too much on them??...
what if they are not the person that suppose to lead us to another era?...
for example... some people took an award/scholarship for granted...and end up getting poor results....
some took it with prides..... but came back being a selfish person... only care for himself and his career without taking into consideration of the people around him.....
should the scholarship/award system be reviewed to ensure that the money is spent on the correct person...
i m sure a lot of people out there are not the top student in their eras... but they have a good academic performance and at the same time... they are those who have "humanities"..... a great leader who really take good care of the people around him..... -
It really depends.... our current political circle we need brains....
if in a war torn countries we need leaders who can lead people to victory... in peacetime we don't need warlike leaders but simply brains to think what is best for the country. -
This type of situation really depends man.....

Born leaders? No lah. More like wannabe leaders.
But simply having the desire to be a leader doesn't automatically make one a good leader. -
It really depends but we have to admit that some scholars aint born leaders but they might be useful for other occupations and some scholars's family salary are beyond the average monthly salary that a family recieved and so..the money is needed to groom them

Lol... How else do you find a good leader then? Although its not perfect but its probably the best judge. Its not like we got wars to fight to show our mettle.
If they head of their CCAs, 10As and ace the interview then how else to deny them.
Of course, not all turn out good but currently I don't think got better solution. Its not like there is a leadership test that can judge how good you are.
Anyway, contrary to belief, getting good grades is not about mugging TYS alone otherwise everyone here is 10As and above. -
