Hamster Training

  Hi, anyone knows how to train a hamster? He still runs around like mad even though i've handled him daily...and he's still squeaking. I've tried everything, food, stroking his back, talking to him..he's that little species...not sure how to spell it. Rovroski or something like that. Anyone can help?

  i've had many hamsters in my time, and i've never been able to train one

  I read on the internet there are ways to...not say train..but sort of make him less freaked out by you...i handle him everyday but something's not right..i bought him the tastiest hamster treats and apples and peanuts and whatever he likes...even chocolate..but the fella's still damn scared of me. Im losing hope...6 mths liao like this...

  u can tame but u cant relli train a hammie.....
  they are not innate to be trained....(unless u got a relli clever one)

  oh.. was he fully grown when you got him?
  
  if so, it's hard.. got to leave your scent around all the time, and be non-threatening..
  
  by grabbing him, it's like a predator grabbing him... so he will be freaked out..
  
  some ways can include having him come to you.. place treat in your hand, and let him climb onto your hand to get the treat.. but do not close your hand or try to grab him... after a while (which may take a few days), when he is less gittery, you may try to stroke him or something..
  
  like i said, adult hamsters are harder to "tame"
  
  baby hamsters, get used to you around quickly..

  oh.. try not to feed too much chocolate.. too much may cause a toxic buildup and the health of the hamster may suffer

  maybe your hamster is not used to human contact yet. see them running around also cute what. haha.

  Haha yeah...he likes. He never bites..i got him hes still a little youngster..but hes damn hyper. but lately he's liking the blowdrying after shower, which is a good thing. because i think he knows hell get a fruity treat after he's good and quiet.

  Hamster smelly o not? the upkeep expensive o not? I afraid one day my son will ask for one.
