Can o lvls be done on your own?

That time i saw a thread on whether Alvls can do on your own or not.
seems like most people say it's possible but very hard right.
i'm 16 taking Os this year, we've registered but haven't pay yet.
having some probs in sch which i can't take it, don't want to reveal everything here
a few times i've thought of quitting sch and start to work for money and i'll start my own business but i know it's not easy ; otherwise i take my O lvls at least.
but for now if i'm registered for the exam under the sch, would it be possible if i study on my own or seek coach from private tutors or i mean just ask around yeah. and when it's time i'll go to school and take the papers.
also, what defines prviate candidate ah?

yes, o lvl can be done on ur own easily. umm i tink private candidate should be ppl who are not under any govt owned sch?

Well i think i would have to really study hard and get real help from external la but hmm.
As seen from the MOE site, the new criteria from 2001 onwards is as long as you're 16 and above on that year.
But the problem is i'm in school now and registered, how to change to self studying
to tamago,
yeah i know that, it's my final year that's why if i can settle down as a private spending time studying myself not bothering with lower prioritized things, it would be good.
im having probs in sch that's the point -

Or you can stay at ITE Bishan every week nite...damn cheap is there to help private students to prepare for O levels...

we go to school every day like this. once i quit, i do have a lot more free time added to my own life.
and i really do think by then i will have way more time to study then i currently am. bothering with unnecessary stuffs. -

it's quite a hard talk.
maybe i'll have a talk tomorrow or something with the principal, i'm likely to get suspended because of 'something' (like i said sorry dont wanna say much
)

i'll see how it goes first. the only thing bothering me is the registration for sch candidates is over and i'm registered with the school already.
If i am really going to leave school, i'll try make requests with SEAB asap. -

same as me. i was suspended from march till o lvl last year. but not bad, still got 23. as long as u study, sure can make it 1.

this scenario is if i'm not schooling any more (+ likely if i dont take o level, but quite funny if someone living in this age with no n or o level qualification?)
i'm thinking of opening a bank account or maybe the SAYE, then i'll work and store all my savings there, for interests or just sort of a place to ensure i save my money.
Then i'll invest them yeah. Does this sound like a joke? -

If you are still in school and registered O level, you can't registered yourself as private candidate.
I dont recommend you to quit school at this moment...
O level can be self studied if you have the motivation and resources.
Like me, this year I am going to Poly, but still I will be taking O level as a private student because of my lousy O level grades. -

Directly approach to your Form teacher. He/She will direct you to your Principal.
But before that, have you consider seriouly that you want to quit school. Because if you tell your Principal that you don't want to take O level, it's the same as telling her you want to quit school.

U can try talking to SEAB and see if they can allow U to change...but I would advise U to stick it out in ur current school and take it as school candidate...if ur problem at sch is really serious...see if the principal can let U go on leave until O level starts...
and of course...U have to find a lab for U to learn ur science practicals.
U can try ITE or BMC.
ITE link provided by hobochua above is a little outdated.Its for Sept 2004 intake.The next intake this year is 19 March 07.No offense meant to hobochua.
BMC is another option...more expensive...but all in all...pls try to squeeze urself into the ITE programme if U can help it.its better.
