Polytechnics Notebooks Order

  Can anyone tell me why i should get my notebook from the school? cos i heard there's some pre-installed softwares nia..

  I dont know if I should buy my own or wait for the bulk order

  My advice is get a laptop out side as there would be a wider range. Then get it to your sch's IT dept to install the stuff=)

  ouh.. yea.. u get free softwares and it's cheaper.. but beware.. cause they change the components inside to a lousier 1.. so it's cheaper.. lol..

  Ok ,for TS, Getting the laptops from the polytechnics are seriously good bargains, u can never get notebook which is discounted for about 600 bucks. Furthermore , notebooks usually do not come with pre-installed software , unless it is anti-virus program, they come with freebies.
  
  And getting laptops from outside isnt really worth it as compared to getting it from your polytechnic unless you are seeking for a gaming laptop then that would cost about 2.5k SGD +++ . But in polytechnic, you arent expected to play on your laptop all day long, u have it for presentations , group work and online assignments.

  3 years back ngee ann sold Toshiba Laptop.
  
  out of 4 models, only 1 cost 1K (big + bulky)
  
  the other 3 cost from $2800 onwards.... terribly expensive..
  
  mainly got pre-installed software (but can always install in IT dept) and the 3 years warrenty

  Got many many laptop models on offer at Funan due to post IT fair promotion... Prices ranging from $1k for a Centrino Duo Core, 512Mb DDR2, 80Gb 5400rpm harddisk, dual layer DVD writer...

  for np the cheapest laptop they offered to me is 1.5k without gst and its a dual 2 core 1.6ghz and i think thats quite cheap isnt it??

  Saw a Compaq Presario V series, selling at $1039, Centrino Duo Core at 1.8Ghz...

  1. Yes its cheaper if you buy in sch.
  2. If u have your own notebook you can also get the software for free ( If u reformat )
  3. Warranty ( depends )
  
  Fujitsu laptops have a problem ... It generates alot of heat.

  pre-installed software everyone oso can get from school. no diff.
