Does clothes shrink?

It seems to be happening to me
got some tees with beri nice design hor
suddenly become so short
hw to stop it? or issit becoz of my washing method, or detergent, or the tee is lousy quality -
maybe its ur body xpand

Hmm if it has, I wouldn't know. Normally if my shirts feels tighter, I would assume that I've become fatter. ^^;

Fcuk, clothes shrink faster if you wash and put them into a dryer.

Some materials shrink more than others, its very obvious if you use a dryer on them. I remembered I had a fila and nike polo tee I bought from warehouse sale in Oz, both became my floormat after 3 washes.

Some(not all) of the garments sold in the shops are pre-washed, some are not.
Those that are pre-washed, they will shrink less. Because the garment manufacturer tested the shrinkage rate before manufacturing the acutal garments, then they will add a few cm(depending on the rate) when they make it. Before shipping to the export countries, they will send the garments to industrail luandry factroy to wash it(might add chemicals to improve hand feel). These garments wont shrink too much after you buy it from shop and wash it at home.
Denim garments are all pre-washed.(If not they are super hard for something you wear on your body)
Knitted wear(like cotton t-shirts) hard to say, depends on manufacturer/brands.
Woven wear(like shirts/khaki pants) are mostly pre-washed.
For those not pre-washed, they tend to shrink more.
Yes, FI, tumble dry will tend to make the garments shrink. Washing with warm(or even hot?) water also. -
when u go buy clothes that time, if the shirt too big, the shopkeeper will say it will shrink when u wash it
but if u say the shirt too small, they will say it will expand when u wash it

Actually, it's true that that can shirnk and also expand.
When the length of the garment is shorter than the length required, they can "pull". Because cotton tees are a little bit elastic, so when they iron it, they pull it abit and then use steam iron to press it to make if streched.
