Which Foreign language is best to know?

Hi Guys,
I am going on to 2nd year at Ngee Ann poly and as some of you might know you are actually allow to a take a foreign language as one of your IS Module in Year 2 and 3
Now the question is which language would be best to know when it comes to job opportunities and increased economic success? I tht Japanese but Japan being a small country and all, which only allows very low immigration into its country. It does not seem a wise choice? Anyone here has got any suggestions based on your working experience?

Why look at the pragmatic gains? Go for the one which interests you most. All of them will serve you well, not just in your work but also in your daily interactions.

in that list, french and spanish are the most widely used
but for now, learn what you are interested in.
the fact that you oledi know three languages will be an added advantage -
The best language to learn now is middle east language !
the best and most useful phase to learn is in their language is :
1) Don't shoot !!! I am not an american !

3) spare my life ! I will convert to Muslim & marry 3 wives including your daughter ! -

One should know English, Mandarin, Spanish and Arabic.

i'll take spanish or behasa indonesia
coz its easy to study
language even if u learn b4 is hard to master
u have to be speaking it with some1 everyday for years to be fluent
If u r really serious in mastering one.
All depends, take for eg : for engineering can go for german
then go germany, best.
japanese have to take many many levels to finally complete it, same for the rest
taking into acct new pronouciation and new writings.
spanish manageable
french is #@$@%^
German is @#$@%
Viet is @#$@#$
Indo is bagus la !
similar to malay, write in english letters, easy to pass haha -

French is really hard. Everything has its own gender. Desks are female, pencils are male, etc. There are imperfect tense, pluperfect tense, subjunctive, gerundive and many other tenses.

i'd take spanish, i like the language and it's useful too (at least to me)
im self learnin it anyway....
i think most people will take japanese.. probably due to anime and stuffs.. but to me i dont think it's useful or widely use, whatsmore im not interested in the language -
