is learning japanese hard?

i am attending a japanese elementry class now.
In the beginning, the class was full, but by about 3/4 completion of the 15 lessons... ppl stop coming already..is this normal?? -
normal for most classes where attendence isnt taken and you dont have to hand in a parent's letter or MC for missing a class...

if it is...then is normal....esp in CC classes -
lots of people stop at intermediate level.

My batch, by intermediate, only 1/3 are left... and those who eventually reach JLPT 2 are even lesser...
I think many people in the batch do not put in effort to memorize the vocabulary and think they can get by without putting effort to study.
Its just hard work just like going to Kindergarten to learn ABCs and grammar rules again.
But learning Japanese can be very enjoyable... I learnt at Ikoma many years back.. totally enjoyable and i really looked forward to Japanese classes...Lots of funny games and we created wacky sentences with the Japanese we learnt.
At intermediate level there is a breaking point, which decides whether you can master the grammar.. its the Verb-conjugation part - that is to change to past tense etc... make sure extra attention is paid to that because its the foundation for many other part of the grammar...Those who missed that lesson cannot grasp the future chapters..
Once you clear that Hurdle...
It would be acquiring vast amount of Vocab in Kanji which would enable reading and comprehension of text. -

no language is hard to learn if u are sincere about learning and put in ur best effort.......
u need to practise reading, speaking and writing often....
no point learning then u have no one to speak to or the chance to use it......
and if u dun use it regularly, u will soon forget....... -
I still have problems with romanji .

the problem in learning japanese is that we dun have much chance to practise our listening and speaking skills in singapore.
