  short-sightedness is normally due to genetics. as to why it's becoming more prevalent, it's because the genes for short-sightedness are dominant.
  
  then again, everyone's eyesight will fail when old age comes. so, enjoy it while you can.

  do you noe what is congenital myopia?
  
  myopia (aka shortsightedness) has also been shown under scientific research to be herditary means passed on from parents to children.
  
  eyeball elongation isnt always something caused by the environment u noe
  
  altho prolonged eye straining DOES contribute to myopic vision, it doesnt mean that all they do stuff like computer games and wadever...
  
  do u noe that most ppl in offices use the computer to do their work?
  do u noe that ppl have to spam alot of books to mug for wadever they are studying? (esp hardcore courses like med and law in university?)
  
  and then there are also ppl with strong eyes that are able to retain perfect vision even tho they go tru the same stuff
